چکیده

Cross-organizational business processes are gaining increased attention these days, especially with the service oriented architecture (SOA) as a realization for business process management (BPM). In SOA, interaction agreements between business partners are defined as choreographies containing common interaction patterns. However, complex interactions are difficult to specify, basically because a formal, common standard supporting all interaction patterns is missing. This paper takes the next steps by investigating formal representations of service interaction patterns in π-calculus and Petri nets. Since dynamic routing based on mobility is a central aspect of choreographies we argue that π-calculus is better suited for formalizing service interactions than place/transition and colored Petri nets.

Disagreement and Degrees of Assertiveness in Service Encounters: Purchase vs Problem-Solving Interactions

This paper examined disagreement in two sets of data in the context of service encounters: problem-solving interactions (doctor-patient communication) and purchase-oriented encounters (pharmacies) from a cross-cultural perspective (Spanish-British English). We proposed assertiveness, a term that refers to both socio-psychological and linguistic features of communication, as a concept that may h...

Formalizing Web Service and Modeling Web Service-Based System Based on Object Oriented Petri Net

Recently Web Service has become a hot spot. Its main idea is to integrate a group of services to construct new value-added Web Service-based systems, which run on the World-Wide-Web. It’s necessary to get formalizing and modeling techniques and graphic tools for reliable Web Service and its application construction. In this paper, an approach to formalizing Web Service and modeling its applicat...

Modeling and Detecting Feature Interactions among Integrated Services of Home Network Systems

This paper presents a framework for formalizing and detecting feature interactions (FIs) in the emerging smart home domain. We first establish a model of home network system (HNS), where every networked appliance (or the HNS environment) is characterized as an object consisting of properties and methods. Then, every HNS service is defined as a sequence of method invocations of the appliances. W...

Web Service Choreography Verification Using Z Formal Specification

Web Service Choreography Description Language (WS-CDL) describes and orchestrates the services interactions among multiple participants. WS-CDL verification is essential since the interactions would lead to mismatches. Existing works verify the messages ordering, the flow of messages, and the expected results from collaborations. In this paper, we present a Z specification of WS-CDL. Besides ve...

Normative Time-Bounded Service Logic

Traditional systems of temporal and action logics lack of an explicit representation of some desirable features in service-oriented environments, such as time and norms. In this paper a proposal for a logic which allows service-oriented environments to be formally specified is presented. This logic has been employed for formalizing normative time-bounded services in the THOMAS architecture.
